Easy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders (Crispy & Juicy)

These Easy Air Fryer Chicken Tenders are crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and made with just a handful of pantry staples. They’re healthier than deep-fried versions, ready in under 20 minutes, and perfect for quick dinners, kids’ lunches, or protein-packed snacks. With minimal oil and maximum flavor, these tenders are sure to become a weekly favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken tenders (or chicken breasts sliced into strips)

  • 1 egg

  • 2 tbsp milk

  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

  • ½ cup regular breadcrumbs

  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese (optional)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • Cooking spray or olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.

  • Whisk the egg and milk in a shallow bowl.

  • Mix breadcrumbs, parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in another bowl.

  • Dip each chicken tender into the egg wash, then coat thoroughly in the breadcrumb mixture.

  • Place tenders in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with oil.

  • Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and internal temp reaches 165°F (74°C).

 

  • Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-dip tenders in egg and breadcrumbs.

  • Add cayenne for a spicy kick.

  • These freeze well—cook from frozen with 2–3 extra minutes.

 

  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–4 minutes.
