Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread cookies are a holiday classic with a perfect balance of spicy and sweet. Ideal for creating gingerbread men or tree shapes, these cookies are sure to bring holiday cheer with their festive flavors and adorable decorations

Ingredients

  • 3 ½ cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp ground ginger

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground cloves

  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg

  • ¾ cup butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 cup molasses

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In one bowl, mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, spices). In another bowl, cream butter and brown sugar.

  • Add molasses and egg to the butter mixture, then combine with dry ingredients.

  • Chill dough, roll out, cut shapes, and bake for 8–10 minutes.

 

  • Decorate with icing or powdered sugar for a snowy effect.

Notes

Chilling the dough helps the cookies hold their shape during baking. Decorate with royal icing for a fun touch!
