Sugar Cookies

These classic sugar cookies are perfect for decorating with royal icing, sprinkles, and other creative toppings. Their buttery flavor and soft texture make them a holiday favorite, ideal for cookie exchanges and festive gatherings

Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 ½ cups butter

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In one bowl, mix dry ingredients (flour, baking soda). In another bowl, mix wet ingredients (butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract).

  • Combine both mixtures, roll dough into balls, and bake for 8–10 minutes.

 

  • Let cool, then decorate with icing or sprinkles.

Notes

These sugar cookies are perfect for decorating. For softer cookies, don’t overbake!
