Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage or ground beef

  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms

  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced

  • 1 cup marinara or pizza sauce

  • 1 tsp dried oregano

  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough

  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease 4 oven-safe ramekins.

  • In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium. Add onions and sauté until soft, then stir in garlic.

  • Add sausage or beef and cook until browned. Add mushrooms and bell pepper; sauté for 3–4 minutes.

  • Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, and chili flakes. Simmer 5–7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Place mozzarella and Parmesan into the bottom of each ramekin. Spoon in the hot filling.

  • Roll out dough and cut into squares slightly larger than ramekins. Drape over each, sealing edges.

  • Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.

  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, until the crust is golden. Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve inverted or in-bowl.

Notes

  • Use puff pastry for a flakier finish.

  • Make vegetarian by using extra veggies instead of meat.

  • Add your favorite toppings like pepperoni or olives for variety.
